Geographical Information System (GIS) & Land Information System (LIS)

GIS is a technological field that incorporates geographical features with tabular data in order to map, analyze, and assess real-world problems. Geocadinal applies operation of GIS on many levels.  On the most basic level, we use geographic information systems technology as computer cartography – for straight forward map making. We also use spatial and statistical methods to analyze attribute and geographic information and  the analysis can be derivative information, interpolated information or prioritized information.

A land Information System (LIS) is a geographic information system for cadastral and land-use mapping, typically used by local governments.

A LIS consists of an accurate, current and reliable land record cadastre and its associated attribute and spatial data that represent the legal boundaries of land tenure and provides a vital base layer capable of integration into other geographic systems or as a standalone solution that allows data stewards to retrieve, create, update, store, view, analyze and publish land information.

Clients rely strongly on Geocadinal to provide accurate and reliable GIS/LIS survey results.

Remote Sensing & Satellite Mapping

Remote sensing is the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of an area by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance.

Our capabilities in Remote sensing include:

  • Mapping of Large forest fires from space, allowing fire fighters to see a much larger area than from the ground.
  • Tracking clouds to help predict the weather and help watching for dust storms.
  • Tracking the growth of a city and changes in farmland or forests over several years or decades.
  • Discovery and mapping of the rugged topography of the ocean floor (e.g., huge mountain ranges, deep canyons, and the “magnetic striping” on the ocean floor).
